Name Change!

It's something I've been pondering, and I decided to just make it quick like ripping off a band-aid.

The book is no longer called Second London.

The more I write and plan out lore, the less sense it makes to have the main city in the book be called Second London.  England is not involved in the island at all.  The island is a port leading into an independent republic, why would it be named after a big city that it does not answer to?

Oleander Isle is a much more fitting name for the setting.  That's all I can really say without spoiling too much about the lore and story.

Not only did the name change to The Automatons of Oleander Isle (because it is still about the automatons, that part has not changed), but I changed the cover too.  Originally, it was a picture I took back in 2007 in London of a building I did not know the name of.  Now it is a picture I took much more recently of the Ashton Villa in Galveston.  It will definitely work as a placeholder.  It might change again later on.  But right now, I like it.  It reflects the shift away from England towards a setting closer to (my) home.

Oops, I may have spoiled too much.

Anyway, I'm still working on what was the second draft but is now essentially a different first draft.  I'm confused.  I also have a couple of research field trips coming up - one is a steampunk festival next week, and one is a tour of Victorian-era homes in early May.  And a class on historic coffee brewing in August, that is very important to the story in the book.
