Sunday Update #4! + Event Participation Announcement!

Since writing is my main summer job right now, I should be getting enough work done to go back to weekly updates.  Should be.  There's also college and professional development around the corner, plus mom recovering from surgery once she has it; still not nearly as much stuff I'll be doing as before, but quite a bit.  But I want to go back to weekly Sunday updates, so I need to provide enough content so that these updates can be substantial.

I think the biggest piece of news is that Chapter 2 is done!  Writing, visuals, and sound are finished for that chapter...at least, until it is time to revise.  It will probably get changed around then.  Main issue I have with it is that Clash's motivations and change of heart are both rather sudden.  But I am happy with the overall tone and a couple of reveals.  And I am happy that it got finished; these last couple of months were very difficult for me IRL, and believe me when I say that a lot of stuff had to go to the backburner just so I could get through.  There's just little changes that I will need to make...later.  Way later.  Like, when I'm revising the game as a whole.

The second biggest piece of news is that I started Chapter 3!  This is the chapter where things start to connect back to that scene at the very, very beginning where Clash is all hacked and stuff.  First he has to interview the parents to get ideas about where the kid could have been taken; this chapter might be a little bit shorter than the others, since I want the scene where Clash meets the AI that hacks him and subsequently gets hacked to be its own chapter.  So either Chapter 3 is short or its yet another padding chapter like Chapter 2.  I don't like padding, but have come to notice that most VNs include it in some form or the other.  So okay, I'll do it too.

Goal this week is to get 1/4 to 1/2 of the writing done.  So we will see if I reach that goal!

Oh, and also, you may know about Steam's Next Fest events.  These are neat events where a bunch of indie devs show off their demos and hopefully get some good feedback and interest drummed up in the game.  I'm excited to announce that Clash: Blue Mirage will be participating in Steam Next Fest that is starting this month!  In fact, it is starting this week, I believe!  Nope, got the date jumbled with Summer Games Fest, which Blue Mirage is NOT a part of.  Next Fest is later.  Lol.
